Day 6: What is your favorite piece that you’ve knit? I wish I had a picture… A super sweet sweater right out of the pages of “Tacky Sweaters Weekly” (if such a magazine existed) I used bright DK yarn and every fair-isle motif I could find and combined them to create a bright super-dork cardigan. It’s my winter go-to. Maybe I can take a picture and post it later after work. If I remember… Day 7: Your least favorite? I tried to knit a skirt from an issue of Knit Digest but I swapped out the yarn/needle size and tried to make it work with sport weight hemp and it was just TOO tight and not flattering. I hate it when you see something that looks awesome in the magazine and then when you finish and try it on you realize that you’re a totally different shape… Ugh. I still need to frog that so that it doesn’t sit in a drawer and depress me from afar. Maybe I can turn it into a shopping bag.
I want to dive head-first into this pile and writhe around like a cat in a sunbeam.
i love crochet, it’s completely underrated
This is the coziest looking photo I’ve ever seen. Hooray crochet!
huh. That’s one to think on.
This is how I feel right now.
My physics TA frustrates the living daylights out of me.
I’m pretty terrible at tumbling on time.
My 30 days of yarn may be spread out over several months. (But nobody said which days they had to be!)
So here are three-in-one.
Do you have any other WIP’s?
Always. Two afghans, a few pairs of socks, and strange granny squares just laying about waiting to strike up some inspiration… but they aren’t the important ones.
Plus, there’s always a half-written pattern laying about somewhere with a wonked-out swatch that badly needs to be frogged and re-assessed seven times until it actually looks like it’s what it’s supposed to.
But then, isn’t that life?
And, to cop out on the next two days:
How did you learn how to knit?
And
How long did it take from the time your learned how to knit, to finish your first project?
I… uh. I seem to accidentally answered those when I tackled Day One. So there!
